About Us & Our Dogs

We want you to know a little about us and our dogs. Deciding to have this litter was not just a whim but was well thought out and working closely with our Vet to make sure that not only our desire for a litter but both Rosie & Harley's heath were taken into consideration. We are NOT backyard breeders, this may be the only litter we have. We are firm believer's of not over populating this world with unwanted puppies and dogs. It is because of the beauty and nature of our dogs, both inside and out, and many family and friends asking "when are you going to have pups", that we did decide to make the commitment to produce a litter.
Our dogs are truly family members. When Harley came into our lives, from day one he was with us 24 hours a day. Both my husband and myself worked together building a condominium complex on the North Fork of Long Island, and of course right on the water. Harley's bed was under my desk and he had full run of the place. He was the site mascot and very much loved by all. When we decided to bring Rosie into the family, I was not working and was able to stay home and take care of her. Again spending 24 hours a day, now with both dogs. If you come to our home you will find the dogs here, either curled up inside taking a nap or out in the backyard playing or taking in the sun, unless they are off on one of their walks or on an "adventure" with us.
These puppies will only go to good homes, determined by either our personal experience of knowing the buyer or by a potential buyer filling out our Puppy Application. All pups will be sold with AKC paperwork with "Limited Registration" which clearly states that the dog will be only a pet, a family member and must be spayed or neutered.

Limited Registration
(reprinted from AKC Guidelines)
Limited Registration
means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are
eligible for registration.
Chapter 3, Section 4A of the AKC's Rules
Applying to Registration and Discipline states the following: "Limited
Registration may be requested for a dog when application for individual
registration of the dog is submitted, provided the application, together with a
request for such limitation, is filed by the owner(s) of the litter at
birth.
No offspring of a dog for which Limited Registration has been
granted is eligible for registration. Each registration certificate for such dog
shall carry notice of the limitation, and the limitation shall continue,
regardless of any change of ownership, unless and until the owner(s) of the
litter at birth shall apply to AKC for removal of the limitation."
A dog
registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in
a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however,
to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include:
Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing,
Agility and Earthdog.
Limited Registration is determined by the litter
owner(s). The litter owner(s) check the Limited box on the AKC Dog Registration
Application.
Limited Registration certificates are white with an orange
border; the Full Registration certificate is white with a purple
border.
Limited Registration can be changed to Full Registration only by
the litter owner(s). The litter owner(s) will need to obtain the Application to Revoke Limited Status. That form
will then need to be completed and sent to our Raleigh address with the
processing fee. After processing, we will send a Full Registration certificate
to the dog's owner.
Limited Registration helps breeders protect their
breeding programs. If breeders do not want puppies used for breeding purposes,
they can request the Limited Registration option for those puppies.
The
American Kennel Club does not license or endorse anyone engaged in the commerce
of selling purebred dogs and, therefore, has no control over the business
practices of those involved in such transactions. Membership in the American
Kennel Club is comprised of independent dog clubs located throughout the United
States. No individual persons are members of the AKC.
The AKC will not
become involved in disputes concerning 'full' or 'limited' registration of a
dog. These disputes must be resolved by the parties involved in the sale of the
dog. The only exception to this is in cases where there is a contract, signed by
all parties involved and made at the time of the dog sale, that stipulates the
registration status. In those cases, AKC will initiate an inquiry on the matter
When inquiring about puppies, we ask you to be as clear with us about what you expect for and from your puppy, as we will be making ourselves equally as clear. We want you to understand that we bred our dogs out of love for them and to produce puppies that will become "family" members as our dogs are.
If
you have any questions, please feel free to email us and we will get
back to you as quickly as we can. If you want to meet our dogs and
puppies please leave a contact number so we can set up an appointment
with you to come and visit.
